Siesta Home specialises in designing and creating beautiful bed linen and cushions, helping create ‘your sanctuary’, by adding a little luxury into your bedroom … a place where you want to be! I first featured this beautiful brand on my blog here … well hold tight because this second collection is a stunner !
Siesta Home’s first collection, launched just under 12 months ago was a huge success & a sell out – bold, bright and colourful prints inspired by the alpine landscape where owner, Johanna Lyle, spent most of her previous life as a professional athlete.
Johanna had always had a love of interiors, homewares & styling homes. She and her husband fell even more ‘in love with all things home’ after a big home renovation. After gaining so much knowledge after their ‘reno’, she decided to dive in and launch her own bedlinen range that echoed her aesthetic and love of colour and texture. No looking back now …
Siesta Home’s second collection is titled ‘Feel’, and it’s beautiful!
It’s all about texture and pastel colours paired with metallic and prints. “It’s about that delicious feeling of beautiful linen on bare skin, luxurious velvets and muted tones. Quite a progression from my first collection – which was all about colour-pop and play,” Johanna says.
The range of velvet pillowcases available in; Pitch Black, Desert Yellow, Slate Blue and Dusty Rose. ( My favourite colour is the ‘Desert Yellow’.) The collection has just dropped with pre orders filling up fast, so it’s off to a great start!
Johanna loves styling her new ranges “it is by far one of my favourite parts.” She also gets a real kick out of seeing how her customers have used Siesta Home in their own styling – they are a constant source of ideas and inspiration.
She loves the ever-changing trends of this industry,“there are so many talented designers and stylists out there, I always see something new to inspire me. Instagram is a great way to connect with people – customers, stylists, media and people are very engaged and passionate,” she says.
Juggling family / work commitments can be a challenge, she says. As much as she would like to spend 24/7 on her business, she also needs to be balanced and loves her precious family time. “Self taught, having to learn everything herself, as a small business owner has been a steep learning curve! Luckily, I have some trusted advisors around me to help me keep everything on track.”
Her tips for business success “Keep going! Celebrate your wins and you will have times when you feel like you are getting nowhere – but if you are passionate and persist, you will get there! Outsource what you can’t do to people who can!”
Johanna loves Friday’s and the odd glass of Prossecco (something we have in common…). She also loves the life experiences that ‘Siesta Home’ has afforded her, such as travelling to India to meet her incredible suppliers, who are just as passionate about her products about as she is!
