Located on the scenic coastline of the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, you will find a little piece of heaven … I’m talking about the recently launched ‘Kreo Holiday Home’. For those of you that are not familiar with ‘the Peninsula’ as the locals like to call it … the best way to describe it is; it’s picturesque and has literally everything on your door step, world class beaches, views that will take your breath away, wineries to explore, and shopping that will leave you wanting more!
Both Maggie and Chris Pana have had the vision for ‘The Kreo Holiday Home’ for some time as an exciting new phase of their incredible business Kreo Home, and what better location to launch their new adventure, than back where Maggie calls it … her happy place. ” I wanted my guests to experience and see the peninsula as I do … and create their own memories,” says Maggie.
The Mornington Peninsula has always held a special place in Maggie’s heart, she has had ‘the best’ memories growing up there, spending every summer with her family at their holiday home Dromana. The Kreo Holiday Home has been a dream of Maggie and Chris Pana’s for a long time … and it has now come to life, they couldn’t be more excited! ” My family previously owned a home on the Peninsula which, we shared it with our cousins for 30 + plus years. There could be 15 of us at one time in that house, it was where many fond memories were made. My family decided to sell the house about 3 years ago … I did not want it to end there,” Maggie says. From this ‘event’, the Kreo Holiday Home was born. “It was time for new beginnings and new memories to be made, so we house hunted with the vision of bringing happy times not only for ourselves, but for our friends and clients as well. We noticed that many holiday rentals ‘lacked soul’, so we wanted to ‘ give it a touch of Kreo’ … filling it with our favourite local finds to give our clients an experience like no other.” … from what I can see, she’s nailed it!
Their holiday home sleeps 7-8 people comfortably, making it easy for two families to enjoy a fabulous holiday together. It has a spacious open plan kitchen, living area & dining space that opens out onto an undercover alfresco decking area. A generous master bedroom with ensuite is located on the ground floor, with additional bedrooms & a great retreat on level one. Other than the location, I would have to say the thing I love about this holiday destination is what’s actually in it … It’s decked from top to bottom with beautiful art & homewares … check out he full details of the home here.
This is a funny story from Maggie … “After purchasing the home, I only had one opportunity to visit it before getting the keys … eek! We only had a six week settlement, so based on my memory, measurements and photos I began to source furniture, art and home décor with a vision of ‘scandi coastal’ interior. I basically had to ‘style it blind’…. Looking back I don’t know how I did it, it was terrifying! The day of settlement, I had organised for all the pieces to arrive ( as you do ), still terrified due to second guessing myself, the pieces of the puzzle came together perfectly. Bingo! “
One thing I LOVE about the Kreo Holidays home, is that if you like something, you can literally purchase everything in it! They have created a ‘Kreo Holiday Home Suppliers’ list on the ‘Creative Hub’ at the Kreo Home website. This list features pictures of all the pieces showcased in the home and also has direct links to the local creative’s websites. “We have also worked very closely with our local café Style Pirate, (which is two minute walk from the home) to carry some of the pieces showcased to make our clients shopping experience even better” … what a fabulous idea!
The home also has a connection to the #KreoLovesLocal hashtag on IG, which is growing in popularity every week! (check it out if you haven’t) Maggie says, ” it has been amazing in sourcing products, that I would have normally seen. It has also been a great source for inspiration for so many people which I am thrilled about! Every day it amazes me … talent that is showcased on that hashtag, and I wanted to share their work in the holiday home for others to experience.” Kreo Home has also recently been nominated for a 2017 Life InStyle Gala award, which Maggie has been absolutely blown away by!
So what was the inspiration Maggie used for styling up the home? She says, “Many of the locals we have featured were hand selected by myself, however loads of creatives contacted me as the journey went on. We wanted to showcase as many as possible so we could create awareness of their brands. We have also featured products that have been sent to us through our #KreoHomeReviews segment and gifts that have been sent to us by many awesome creatives.”
Does Maggie have a favourite space in the Kreo Holiday Home ? Yes, she loves the open plan living area. “It is filled with the most amazing art and home decor and no matter where you sit, you are inspired by the pieces surrounding you. It’s also a space where everyone can be together and talk about the adventures of the day,” she says.
I’d have to say, I love this space created by Maggie and Chris, and can honestly image myself relaxing here with a glass of bubbles on holidays … wouldn’t that be hard to take!
